The big day is finally upon us! We got a good nights sleep and enjoyed a lazy morning. Early in the afternoon, Kim went for her hair and makeup and I went to the venue to coordinate the staff, flowers, table decorations, equipment, band, and DJ. Before I knew it, it was time to don my handsome vest and walk down the aisle! It was a magical day for Kim and me and I think everyone else had a wonderful time as well!

- The table decorations are in place with a giant metal peacock overseeing the bridal party’s table.
- Mike made all the table settings from items he scrounged up. Pretty cool eh?
- The flowery flip flops are ready for the bride and bridesmaids feet.
- We have a cute little box with hugging frogs for the ring bearer.
- We used some antique porcelain Mickey & Minnie figurines for our cake toppers. Fitting since our honeymoon is at Disney World!
- The bride is almost ready for her big moment!
- The groom stands ready with our pastor, Russel “Thor” Wade in the requested kilt and biker vest (yes, we like to keep it weird – did you see my vest?)
- The bride is escorted down the aisle by her father.
- The bride is handed off to the charming young chap on the left so he can totally marry her!
- Let’s get hitched!
- We integrated the toast/roast into the ceremony itself. Anyone who wanted to say anything about the bride and groom were welcomed up to the microphone.
- The bridesmaids and bridesman look on as the toasts are given.
- The toasting part of the ceremony was quite fun. There were a lot of laughs and heartfelt moments.
- The bride and groom look on as friends and family toast them.
- “Never turn down a kiss and wear out the words, ‘I love you.'”
- Keeping with the lighthearted spirit of the ceremony, we exchanged vows that were fun and heartfelt. Reverend Wade is clearly having a good time!
- We tied the knot… Literally!
- And now to seal our vows with a kiss. Yay!
- May I present to you, Michael and Kimberly Viescas!
- The ceremony is over, now it’s time to party!
- With drink in hand, I held the bouquet while my new wife went to get her drink. Strike up the band!
- Mr. & Mrs. Viescas
- Friends and family having a good time together.
- My beautiful bride. Isn’t she pretty? Her dress was hand-made – one of a kind.
- Kim posing with her cute little niece.
- Here I am with my mom, my dad, and my step-mother
- My younger brother and I being silly

- The fun wedding party picture – that’s more like it!
- Kimberly posing with her parents and her brother and sister.
- Me posing with the groomsmen: my two brothers and two of my best friends.
- Here I am with four of my siblings!
- Yay, more pictures!
- Mike, Kim, and Mike’s Mom
- Kim, Kelly, and Cory posing in the artwork that stood behind our wedding ceremony.
- My younger brother David with his wife and son.
- Here I am acting cheesy with the band.
- Our wedding DJ “Sancho” hard at work setting up tunes. For the procession he played “Home” by Phillip Phillips. For the bride’s entrance he played the Throne Room theme from Star Wars. For the exit, he played “Hangin’ Around” by the Counting Crows.
- We also had a live band – they were great fun!
- We had a 5 man band provide live music for the reception. The Prairie Sky Pilots are a local groovy jam band and everyone had great fun dancing to their tunes.
- The venue was lovely in the day time and lit up all pretty after dark. What a great party!
- Thanks to all of my friends who could come and celebrate with us!
- The flower girl familiarizing herself with the BAM map.
- Instead of cake for everyone, we had 3 varieties of gourmet cupcakes. They were quite a hit!
- The Museum had the Nick Cave exhibit installed during our wedding. Nick Cave makes elaborate fantastic costumes out of found items. They were a great colorful addition to our eclectic wedding!
- The kids had a great time too!
- My nephew and niece dancing up a storm!
- My friend Kelly and his wife take dance lessons – not fair!
- For the family dances I chose “More than Words” by Extreme.
- I danced with all three of my moms during the song. Here I am with my stepmother.
- For the Daddy-Daughter dance we chose “You Are So Beautiful” by Joe Cocker – one of his favorites.
- The first of many dances to come…
- We had our rings made by a local jeweler. They are both white gold with an Amethyst center (my birth stone) surrounded by Opal (her birth stone). Pretty eh?
- Here is the entrance to the Boise Art Museum (BAM) all lit up pretty in the night.
- We eschewed a lot of wedding “traditions” in favor of having more fun. Out went the formal dinner, the cake cutting, the garter toss… and the bouquet? We took it home and put it in water.
